Presentation at OSM 2022
Nabir Mamnun, a PhD student at the Alfred Wegener Institute (AWI), presented his work at the Ocean Sciences Meeting 2022 held online from 24 February – 4 March 2022. The title of his talk was “Uncertainty in ocean biogeochemical simulation: application of ensemble data assimilation to a one-dimensional model”. The presented work focuses on the estimation of ten uncertain biogeochemical parameters using an ensemble Kalman filter at two biogeochemical time series stations. He presented convergence and interdependence features of the estimated parameters in relation to the major biological processes and their uncertainties. He also discussed comparative analysis of parameter estimation at the two stations and ways to learn from them.
